Classes We Offer
This Restorative Yoga class will focus on relaxing the body and mind in restful, supported postures using bolsters, blocks, and blankets. When fully supported by props, the body is allowed to naturally release, achieving a state of active relaxation, relieving tension and providing an opportunity to renew and heal. Experience the sweetness of a Restorative Yoga practice in a supportive, nurturing environment with individualized instruction. This class is guaranteed to give you your most restful sleep ever!
This practice is designed to help you sit longer, and more comfortably, in meditation by stretching connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.
Vinyasa yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning "connection," Vinyasa’s strength is in its diversity, no two classes are the same. We offer vinyasa flows in a slower flow class, an all levels flow in room temperature, warm all levels flow, and a warm powerful class. The warm classes range from 85-90 degrees.
It takes incredible courage to come to a yoga class and roll out that mat for the first time. To be honest, it takes many of us courage still, years later. Our beginning yoga program is designed to take you from the roots of your practice to the rising of your confidence on and off the mat. We will work through the major families of poses to introduce and educate you into new words and movement patterns. The benefits of the physical practices are cumulative and once you begin to feel yourself becoming stronger, or longer, or taking up more space in your entire life, you may find yourself craving the moments of rolling out that mat.
Our children live in a hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures, incessant lessons, video games, malls, and competitive sports. We usually don't think of these influences as stressful for our kids, but often they are. The bustling pace of our children's lives can have a profound effect on their innate joy—and usually not for the better. Yoga can help counter these pressures. When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life's challenges with a little more ease.
Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that's noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion—instead of opposition—is a great gift to give our children. Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them.
Shakti Flow is a movement, a practice, a way of life, inspired by movement. Yoga, dance and functional fitness, Shakti Flow is an invigorating practice that blends these elements. On the surface a Shakti Flow class is full of high intensity cardio bouts, fun improv dance sets mixed with creative vinyasa flow, body weight strength training and breath work while loud motivating music infiltrates the room. Below what we can physically see, these movements are cleansing and opening our chakras, building solid foundations while nudging us to step out of our comfort zones. In turn we re-emerge more confident, vibrant and more aligned with our divine feminine energy. Shakti means power or empowerment, which is what our practice inspires within us. This practice will challenge you no matter what your experience in yoga or fitness, guaranteed to shake up and awaken the inner Goddess that resides within us all.
A calming, stress-relieving yoga practice to stretch and relax the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body. Poses are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and finding openness within the body. Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries.

Chair Yoga is approved by the Arthritis Foundation to ease the aches and pains of arthritis sufferers. Are you pregnant and looking for ways to relax or stay fit? Much like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages opening and stretching, mental centering, and focused breathing. Practicing yoga while you're pregnant helps with nausea, fatigue, and lack of energy. It also strengthens your body for carrying your growing baby, and prepares you for labor and delivery. Prenatal yoga can be practiced throughout your pregnancy, as poses are adapted to your changing body. Drop into any class or email us to schedule a private session. Want your partner to participate too? We offer partner prenatal private sessions as well.
Partner poses are not only fun but also a great way to connect with your partner, whether you are lovers, siblings, or friends. Partner Yoga brings people together through movement, play, breath, touch, and intimacy. The primary component that differentiates partner practice from individual practice is touch. We touch and are touched by others. You'll be forced to communicate effectively (to let each other know how the adjustments feel) and to act with sensitivity (to ensure that the amount of force you're using is appropriate). As partners work together, supporting one another, you rely on each other’s support to keep correct body alignment, balance, and focus in a posture. When you feel physically supported, not only do you experience a yoga pose differently, but you also begin to allow yourself to trust someone else. Partner Yoga is a healing art that teaches the fundamental value of joining and sharing with others. It demonstrates how we become more authentic and empowered through our willingness to open and connect with the world around us. Email us to schedule a private session and stay tuned for special partner workshops.

Parent/child yoga classes offer families the opportunity to come together in a non-competitive and healthy environment. The whole purpose of our family classes is to support your bond with your child. Email us to schedule a private session.
