Classes We Offer
We can offer a wide variety of classes and we will adjust our class schedule as we get established. We welcome all ages from infants to seniors. Yoga poses can even be adapted for those in wheelchairs or bedridden. Our committed teachers are here for you on your journey into the best life you can live. You will be guided at any level you are at; we modify poses to encourage and support students to develop a deeper awareness of their body while finding balance and stability.
Strengthen family bonds and create togetherness with a yoga practice that's specially designed for the entire family. For the little one, this class is a great way to introduce your child to the world of yoga with the comfort of mom and dad at their side. Candlelight Yoga & Meditation
A candlelight slow flow yoga class followed by a 30 minute restorative relaxation meditation with Heather Sherrill from Serene Intentions. Bringing together your inner and outer strength, the physical body of yoga connecting to your inner self. Facilitated session of mindful breathing techniques and guided visualization meditation.
In Chair Yoga traditional yoga poses are modified so that they can be done while seated in a chair or standing using a chair as a support. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily. Even if you are in a wheelchair, you can receive the many benefits of chair yoga. Chair Yoga is approved by the Arthritis Foundation to ease the aches and pains of arthritis sufferers. Whether you’re experiencing arthritis, chronic pain, or breathing difficulties, exercise in any form may be the last thing on your mind. You may feel skeptical about attempting any exercise, including yoga. Yoga is the kindest form of stretching and expanding joints and can fit any age. You’re never too old to start exercising! Vinyasa yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning "connection," Vinyasa’s strength is in its diversity, no two classes are the same. Our Warm Flow is a vinyasa flow with temperatures anywhere from 85-95 degrees. Our Natural Flow is our vinyasa flow with natural room temperatures.
It takes incredible courage to come to a yoga class and roll out that mat for the first time. To be honest, it takes many of us courage still, years later. Our beginning yoga program is designed to take you from the roots of your practice to the rising of your confidence on and off the mat. We will work through the major families of poses to introduce and educate you into new words and movement patterns. The benefits of the physical practices are cumulative and once you begin to feel yourself becoming stronger, or longer, or taking up more space in your entire life, you may find yourself craving the moments of rolling out that mat.
Are you pregnant and looking for ways to relax or stay fit? Much like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages opening and stretching, mental centering, and focused breathing. Practicing yoga while you're pregnant helps with nausea, fatigue, and lack of energy. It also strengthens your body for carrying your growing baby, and prepares you for labor and delivery. Parent and child yoga classes deliver the same mental and physical benefits as any other yoga class: peace of mind, relaxation, and increased bodily strength and flexibility. For parents, it is a benefit to have a place to come and exercise without having to find childcare. Parent/child yoga classes offer families the opportunity to come together in a non-competitive and healthy environment. Postpartum/Mom & Babies Yoga
Deepen the experience of bonding with your baby by continuing yoga practice in the postnatal/ moms & babies class. Yoga movements simulate the motions felt in utero and can be calming for your baby. Postpartum yoga helps your body recover and heal from your pregnancy and delivery by restoring alignment and tone, and by providing relief from lifting, carrying, and nursing. Our children live in a hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures, incessant lessons, video games, malls, and competitive sports. We usually don't think of these influences as stressful for our kids, but often they are. The bustling pace of our children's lives can have a profound effect on their innate joy—and usually not for the better. Yoga can help counter these pressures. When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life's challenges with a little more ease.
Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that's noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion—instead of opposition—is a great gift to give our children. Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them.
Partner poses are not only fun but also a great way to connect with your partner, whether you are lovers, siblings, or friends. Partner Yoga brings people together through movement, play, breath, touch, and intimacy. The primary component that differentiates partner practice from individual practice is touch. We touch and are touched by others. You'll be forced to communicate effectively (to let each other know how the adjustments feel) and to act with sensitivity (to ensure that the amount of force you're using is appropriate). As partners work together, supporting one another, you rely on each other’s support to keep correct body alignment, balance, and focus in a posture. When you feel physically supported, not only do you experience a yoga pose differently, but you also begin to allow yourself to trust someone else. Partner Yoga is a healing art that teaches the fundamental value of joining and sharing with others.
