Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the program take?

The programs are virtual and self-paced, allowing you to complete it on your own schedule. The duration depends on your availability and commitment.

What are the differences between the 200, 300, and 500-hour programs?

The 200-hour yoga teacher training provides you with the basics. Some teachers stay a 200-hour yoga teacher, and that’s ok! If you decide you want to deepen your practice, you can pursue a 300-hour training. You must complete a 200-hour program first before applying for a 300-hour program though. If you have the time and commitment, you can combine both to achieve the 500-hour level of training all at once.

What can I expect from completing Circle of Life Yoga’s teacher training?

  • Teaching Certification: The skills and credentials to confidently lead yoga classes.

  • Trauma-Informed Expertise: Tools to support yourself and students with sensitivity and care.

  • Personal Transformation: Deeper self-awareness, healing, and growth.

  • Holistic Knowledge: A well-rounded understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and mindfulness.

  • Empowerment: The ability to inspire and guide others on their wellness journey.

Do I have to take a yoga teacher training program to teach yoga?

No. There is no governing body of yoga. However, you may find it very difficult to find a job or clients without one. Most studios require you to have a yoga teacher training certification of a minimum of 200 hours.

Is a Yoga Alliance (YA) registration necessary?

No. Most studios and employers do not require their teachers to have a YA membership.

RYT stands for registered yoga teacher, but only with a registration to Yoga Alliance. Yoga Alliance is NOT an accredited or certifiable governing body. Yoga Alliance is recognized around the world for its online registry of studios and yoga teachers however it is not commonly used by students looking for yoga teachers or studios. People tend to use Google or other search engines to find yoga teachers, studios, or yoga teacher trainings. There are also other online yoga registries, like GOYA.
